Okay, I'm late to the party on this one, as I'm posting this on Christmas. But for those who love the detective work of history, there's a classic essay by Don Foster in his book Author Unknown that argues that the poem "The Night Before Christmas" was not written by Clement Moore, as popularly believed. By the time Foster finishes, Moore comes out looking like the Grinch who stole Christmas. A tour de force Yuletide treat not to be missed, even if you have to read it in the middle of August!
